Magical nights
The Mercedes-Benz Nations Cup
The competition is legendary. Staged at the CHIO Aachen for the first time at the end of the 1920s, the Mercedes-Benz Nations Cup is one of the most exciting, most spectacular and most famous occasions that the international equestrian sport has to offer. And its platform is unparalleled across the globe: A full-house every year, 40,000 spectators in the impressive stadium at the traditional showgrounds of the Aachen Soers, the floodlights literally put the superstars of the equestrian sport under the spotlight – that is the legendary Thursday evening at the World Equestrian Festival, at the CHIO Aachen. We spoke with Otto Becker, the national coach of the German showjumpers about the most special evening in the year.
The brand with the star has been a partner of Germany’s largest sporting event since 1954. We have dug out some photos from the Mercedes-Benz Nations cups of the last decades for you.
