A win for Bertram Allen in the Medium Tour
It looked like Richard Vogel was going to celebrate his third victory at the Aachen International Jumping. But then came the Irish rider Bertram Allen and proved that it was possible to ride even faster.
The clocked stopped at 60.23 seconds for Bertram Allen and “Pacino Amiro”. None of his fellow competitors were able to match his time. “It is great being back here in Aachen and fantastic to then also win a class. I am very pleased with my horse,” the overjoyed 25-year-old commented. Although he has competed at the CHIO Aachen several times, today was a premiere for him: “It is all different this time, I have never ridden in the Deutsche Bank Stadium before. It is nevertheless still a very special location and I am very grateful to be able to compete here in spite of the current situation.”
Yesterday’s winners Richard Vogel (GER) and “Lesson Peak” were close at Allen’ heels, they crossed the finish line in a time of 61.60 seconds. Michael Jung (GER) and “Fischerdaily Impressed” took 63.85 seconds to complete the course, which put them into third place.
