Selfies with a WOW effect
Philip Wallisfurth creates 3D colour installation at the CHIO Aachen
The most popular photo motif at the CHIO Aachen 2021? Horse and rider, of course. But the selfie spot created by Philip Wallisfurth, an anamorphosis, a room with a 3D colour installation, is definitely next on the list.
Red dabs of colour in homage to the partner country, Japan, and the seven-coloured CHIO Aachen logo – the artist who grew up in Aachen and meanwhile lives in Berlin, needs no more than that to create an exceptional optical illusion. Photographed from the right angle, the motif develops its own dynamics, an amazing 3D effect. A similar “anamorphosis” is currently also on view in the “Office Space J68”, which actually simply conceals the address Jülicher Straße 68 in Aachen. That is where Philip Wallisfurth is exhibiting up until October 3rd, it is certainly worthwhile paying a visit to the exhibition entitled “Grow up – they said”.
