UBS new partner of the CHIO Aachen
High-class, international, unique. That’s an apt description of the CHIO Aachen. Germany’s biggest sporting event arouses unlimited emotions and produces great winners year after year. Winners who write history. In the probably most famous equestrian classes in the world. Like in the eventing, the spectacular triathlon comprising of dressage, show jumping and cross-country. Olympic gold medallist Julia Krajewski; Olympic gold medallist Michael Jung; World Champion Yasmin Ingham from Great Britain – all of these names are already eternalised on the legendary winners’ board. When the stars of the scene compete at the Aachen Soers in 2025, they will be battling it out to claim the victory in the UBS-Cup. The major Swiss bank is namely the new partner of the CHIO Aachen.
“As one of the world’s leading wealth management companies, UBS, a strong international and dynamic brand is a perfect fit for the consistent alignment of the CHIO Aachen,” stated Michael Mronz, General Manager of Aachener Reitturnier GmbH. As an official partner of the biggest equestrian sport event in the world, the global finance institute with a strong presence in Germany and Europe will among others lend its name to the renowned eventing class, the “UBS-Cup”.
At the major Swiss bank, which was recently recognised as the “World’s Best Bank” by the trade magazine, Euromoney, one is also looking ahead to the new partnership with joyful anticipation. “We are very much looking forward to being part of the CHIO Aachen in future and being able to participate in this world-famous equestrian sport event, among others in our capacity as sponsors of the “UBS-Cup”, commented Tobias Vogel, CEO of UBS Europe SE. “The CHIO Aachen stands for the highest possible excellence and tradition – both values that we have shared at UBS for more than 160 years.”
The new partnership will come into effect for the first time at the CHIO Aachen 2025, which will be attracting global attention this year from June 27th-July 6th. During the ten days of the show, over 350,000 spectators will then pour into the traditional showgrounds at the Aachen Soers. 800 journalists will provide coverage on the competitions, national television will transmit around 30 hours, the majority of which live. Furthermore, TV images will be broadcast in more than 140 countries.
